Smells like Sherlock success!
Tom Baker fans will literally be climbing the walls after reading Doctor Who Magazine #467. If you haven't, then it is with great pleasure that I inform you that the Fourth Doctor Adventure series has been greenlit for a series 4 and 5. What makes this news even more spectacular isn't the fact that it means more Tom Baker, but because Series 3 isn't even over yet. In fact, Episode 1 - The King of Sontar - was only released in January.
Series 4, which is scheduled for release in January 2015, will star Louise Jameson as Leela, along (actually, let's captionize that along) - I mean ALONG with John Leeson as K-9. Yip, the gang is back together again, which means that the next batch of stories are set somewhere after The Invisible Enemy.
But that's not all! I know, I sound like a Glomail advertisement, but Series 5 has also been confirmed for January 2016, this time with the Fourth Doctor joined by Lalla Ward's Romana and John Leeson's K-9. Looks like the Baker/Ward conflict is finally over. Baker,Ward and Leeson are already set to team up in 2015 for two stories The Romance of Crime and The English Way of Death.
Given how early Series 4 and 5 have been green-lit, it's reliable to deduce that The Fourth Doctor Adventures are extremely popular with the fans of Big Finish.
